Meet Bianca Iglesias

Bianca was born and raised in Miami, Florida to Cuban immigrant parents. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Miami. After completing a summer internship in North Carolina at Broughton Psychiatric Hospital she knew that psychiatry would be the focus of her career. She completed a 2-year research fellowship at the National Institute of Mental Health in Bethesda, MD that focused on Schizophrenia and Bipolar Disorder. She also worked at various mental health clinics in Louisiana where she gained more experience treating patients who varied in age and disorders ranging from teenagers to adults and mood and anxiety disorders. After a couple of years, she and her husband returned to Miami for her to pursue her degree to be a Physician Assistant. She received her Master of Clinical Medical Science (MCMSc) from Barry University’s Physician Assistant Program on December 2014 and moved to San Luis Obispo on January 2015. Besides enjoying living in the Central Coast area, Bianca, her husband and dog Rocky like to spend their free time hiking, going to Avila’s dog beach, traveling, and catching up with her family and friends back in Miami. Bianca is fluent in Spanish and is heavily committed to the mental and emotional wellbeing of our patients providing care in a friendly and supportive environment.
